It’s no secret I am a junkie for commercials. But the ones that rely on art cards, the swell of a music and a simple visual…man, those are the ones that just hit me hard.
This latest from Guinness is no exception. They had a stellar one a while back about basketball and this one is about Biathletes and the Olympics. As Guinness is not an Olympic Sponsor, the ad will be “banned” tomorrow in regulation with IOC. Which is a huge shame. It’s a stunningly beautiful ad. Cue the tears.

I’ve seen and heard mixed reviews about this past weekend’s Opening Ceremonies. I for one, absolutely loved them. Loved the historical storyline timeline Danny Boyle dreamed up. Loved the bouncing children on trampoline beds (where do I find one?). Loved Mary Poppins dropping in and JK Rowling performing a reading. But just when I thought it wouldn’t get any better, they lit the cauldron. And that my friends, was well worth the time investment to watch.
I’ve been counting down the days for the Olympics since the last ones ended. I’m obsessed. And the commercials? Only feed my addiction. Currently loving this one from NIKE that does not feature any athletes. It makes me crave the days of jumping off the high dive–how that was the biggest achievement of the summer and you just felt on top of the world.
Relive the moments…
I love when it’s Olympics time. I love waking up early, staying up late and taking an interest in sports I generally don’t pay much attention to. I love hearing that music come pouring through the TV and imagining what it must be like to have a gold medal hanging from your neck while your country’s anthem plays.
I love it all.
And I especially love the commercials during this time. Especially when Morgan Freeman does the VO. Via AdWeek
