While spending the past week reading blogs and articles about “New Year, New You!,” I remember coming across a goal that said to memorize a poem this year. That everyone should have a poem they can recite from memory.
I used to have Wynken, Blynken and Nod to memory. You know, the one by Eugene Field. Though I didn’t memorize it for fun. I did it to win at the Academic Olympics for Poetry. And I had to act it out. It was all kinds of horrible.
But this year, I’ve decided that I’m going to try this poem thing again. And seeing as I don’t read much poetry, I’m not going to do some obscure one. Instead I’m doing this one by Robert Frost.
I know it’s a road that most have traveled on, but I’m confident it will still make all the difference.
