Getting Crafty

Standard

Usually I leave my craft making for the month of October solely for Halloween costumes. But I’ve found a project that I simply must try: cross-stitching a heart sweater.

Maggie recently started cross-stitching again, so I defaulted to her to see the reality of whether or not I could actually do this. She thinks I can (such a supportive roommate), so I’m gonna.

Game plan is a day trip to Michael’s on Saturday and then spending Sunday sitting around watching season 1 of The Newsroom (we finally got HBO) and creating my Valentine’s Day attire.

Photos to come based on the outcome…

*Note: I blame this total interest in crafting due to the fact it’s so cold outside you can barely breathe, your face is about to fall off and the Lake looks like the iceberg that took down Titanic.*

Remember the Moments

Standard

Awhile back, I started following this blog, 365Q, where a photographer (Julian Bialowas) took shots and put inspirational sayings over them, unveiling one each day. This year, he’s doing something different and turning the project to the public. 52mmnts provides a different task each week to capture on film and upload to the site. It just kicked off last week, so project #2 is coming tomorrow. And every Friday, another Moment comes to light, as if we needed another reason to be psyched for Friday. It seems like a simple enough idea and at the end of the year, you’ll have 52 photos that speak to dreams, wishes and desires to reflect on.
